Chief Construction Manager / Deputy Project Director
Civil Engineering - Tunnelling
Based - London
Basic Salary £90,000 - £100,000 plus Executive Package
Our Client is a global player within the Construction sector; they are internationally renowned for Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) schemes and have been involved in some of the world's largest and most complex engineering projects. Having secured a substantial volume of high profile contacts across Europe they are recruiting senior individuals into their business to strengthen specific project teams.
They are now actively seeking to appoint an experienced Construction Manager / Deputy Project Director to manage a £2.2Billion tunnelling specific infrastructure scheme. This role will report into the Project Director, a role that they are also in the process of appointing. To be considered for the role individuals must be able to demonstrate experience of the management of complex construction schemes with a specific focus on Infrastructure and Tunnelling.
The successful individual will be responsible for the day to day management of the project ensuring all project success metrics and KPI's are met. You will represent the Project Sponsor in day to day interaction with the appointed contractor/s whilst at all times maintaining the effective communication of project issues and needs to the project team and Project Sponsor. This role will be responsible for providing audit and oversight, making certain Contractor budget, schedule and quality commitments are met.
All required functions and key areas of responsibility of this opportunity must be maintained whilst at all times ensuring the design, technical standards, construction, project acceptance and commissioning is delivered in accordance with Client requirements. Project success will be obtained through developing a transparent and successful relationship with the Client.

Individuals will have relevant formal qualifications and possess a related Chartership.
Substantial experience of leading and managing large, complex multidisciplinary design and construction projects in excess of £100,000,000 either nationally or internationally.
Understanding of industry systems, functions and management tools necessary for complex project management.
Knowledge and experience in the management of NEC contracts.
Broad experience of underground work, civil, mechanical and electrical with a focus on Tunnelling. |
