	Job Description
	Our client is currently looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to join their team based on site to deal with the designs and interface between the construction contractors and designers as well. Job Purpose: This post is integrated to the engineering structure on site responsible for dealing with the design/engineering interfaces between the construction contractors and the designers as well as with site specific documents. Principal Accountabilities: • Check the content / consistency / exhaustiveness / accuracy of the clarification, change, non-conformance documentation issued by the designers and the construction contractors. • Analyse and resolve any technical design issues presented by designers/construction contractors. • Assess cost and schedule aspects of the changes and non conformances issued by the designers / construction contractors. • Monitor the work of designers/construction contractors to ensure design requirements are adhered to and work is completed accurately and on time. • Manage interfaces (technical & functional) with other engineering disciplines (such as mechanical & electrical), to ensure civil engineering activities are fully integrated into the broader project. • Comply with project QA procedures. • Be able to react to delays which could impact the overall programme. Nature and Scope: The post holder will be working within the Site Engineering Team responsible for dealing with the design/engineering interfaces between the construction contractors and the designers as well as with the management and the review of site specific documents. The job scope will mainly cover earthworks, marine works and the power plant main buildings. You will be responsible for: • Participation in the processing / assessment / review / validation of:- • Execution drawings clarification, • Changes issued by the designers and the construction contractors once the execution documents are for use • Non conformances • Setting up and updating the overall set of site drawings (temporary roads, existing buried networks, contractors compounds,…) necessary to manage the site • Reviewing execution documents (method statements,…) issued by site contractors for temporary works Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience: • Typically degree qualified or equivalent in a civil engineering discipline • Extensive technical knowledge and an ability to work with minimal supervision (technical or managerial) • Experience in the design of earthworks, buildings, marine structures. Experience in nuclear design is an advantage • Membership of a Professional Institute leading to Chartered Status is an advantage • Solid experience in civil engineering, with an understanding of how this interacts with other disciplines in large projects • Experienced in civil engineering standards and regulations, particularly UK regulations • Good knowledge of engineering procedures • Accuracy, tenacity, diplomacy, results-oriented and a team player • Good organisational skills including the ability to delegate • Ability to work independently and be proactive • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills • Excellent English language skills – oral and written • Discretion – able to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information To apply for this position, candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UKMatchtech Group Plc is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
