 |
Commissioning Engineer for Greenfield New build projects and /or Brownfield task projects
The Commissioning Engineer shall assume responsibility for: • Delivery of work under his / her own control • Acting in a monitoring capacity where the work is discharged via 3rd party contractors. • Input at the earliest stages of Factory tests with the continuity of input to the conclusion of commissioning and handover to active operations. • Conversant with and able to understand the key elements of projects related to their core skill (Mech, Control, Elec or Instruments) • Safely carrying out all testing activities throughout all stages of commissioning. • Production of test documentation. • Identification of faults and ability to propose and implement solutions. • understanding the safety implications of commissioning on nuclear facilities. • Leading a team of Commissioning Technicians in the execution of Commissioning activities.
Execute the commissioning of new and technically innovative plant, equipment and processes including modifications to existing plants and the construction of new facilities. Commissioning Engineers are required to ensure a methodical and uniform approach to the delivery of projects from installation checks through inactive demonstration to nuclear active operation with the objective of delivering plants and processes capable of meeting the operational challenges fundamental to the Sellafield core business. Commissioning Engineers carry out testing requirements throughout all commissioning stages of projects and are required to; • bring a competence, experience and professionalism to the commissioning test role • have experience of working within a commissioning team environment • under stands the specific requirements of project work. • Safely carry out all testing activities throughout all stages of commissioning • Identification of faults and ability to propose and implement solutions • Witnessing and participation in commissioning test activities In addition the role comes with the responsibilities to work with and provide support to, commissioning colleagues and personnel involved in other disciplines to; • Promote a positive Health & Safety Culture for project delivery • Improve project delivery performance and meet company targets • Accurate recording of test results in an audit-able manner to satisfy internal and external auditors • Support the Commissioning team with the delivery of the project.
Key Skills
Qualified to HNC minimum with a supporting engineering apprenticeship. Background in engineering discipline in Electrical, Mechanical, Control , Instrumentation with an industrial project environment
