One of Matchtechs key clients are looking for a highly experience Planning Manager to join their expanding team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Deputy Planning Manager, you will assist in providing leadership and technical direction over a team of Planning Specialists.
You will be responsible for the implementation of planning and scheduling procedures and also for all planning reporting on specific projects.
The role will also include responsibility for assisting the schedule risk analysis on a project.
Specific responsibilities include: •Participate in the development of the Project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
•Implement standard planning procedures and project specific planning and scheduling processes, using the planning systems such as Primavera P6 and associated project controls modules (for which training will be given)
•Direct the planning team in the development of planning network schedules for specific projects and the production of Baseline analyses, 'S' Curves and resource histograms
•Direct the planning team in the definition and assignment of roles and resources to activities of work and organise the timely production of critical path analyses and related resource levelling operations, as directed by the Corporate Planning Manager
•Liaise closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction and other disciplines to provide schedule and progress information to project management
•Assist with the execution of schedule risk analysis on specific projects, using standard risk systems and reporting the key project risks to Project Management
•Attend Project Controls departmental meetings as required
•Liaise with Human Resources to manage Employee Relations and Resourcing issues
•Act as a point for all planning related queries raised by Planning Control personnel
•Interface with multiple global locations on their processes, documentation standardisation, and structure.
REQUIREMENTS
The skills required for this role will typically have been acquired through the completion of a relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent and experience of working within the Planning function of Project Controls.
Membership of a professional body such as APM would be desirable.
Key Competencies include:
•Substantial planning experience in construction or oil & gas, preferably with some experience in offshore oil and gas
•Previous experience of successfully managing a team of planning staff
•Excellent communication and presentation skills,
•Ability to work concurrently on several activities, with good organizational skills.
•Commitment to a career in project controls and the pursuit of excellence
•Working knowledge & experience of planning systems such as Primavera P6, PIMS or similar and its application in the planning and implementation of projects
