Our client is seeking an individual to develop the station emergency preparedness processes and provisions for fire protection within their Nuclear New Build (NNB) program.
This position requires a strong inspirational and an innovative leader to support the achievement of New Nuclear Build targets. You must be focused on achieving engineering excellence and able to demonstrate high ethical behaviour, integrity and character. This role will initially be responsible for developing the station emergency preparedness process and dealing with fire protection issues, and is critical to the achievement of both a nuclear site licence and future safe and reliable operation.
As the NNB team grows, you will be required to manage and motivate a small team of technical staff. They will fulfil an essential role in the support of project targets and the implementation of emergency preparedness and fire protection processes for the project and for the successful operation of the station. The post holder will be required to develop the programme for emergency preparedness and fire protection and will have key targets within other project work programmes. The post holder will report directly to the Maintain Manager.
Initially they will be required to work with the project team to develop NNB processes to ensure that this meets the requirements of the site licence arrangements and liaise between the existing operating licensees to ensure that emergency preparedness is maintained during the construction period. You will be accountable for developing and implementing the station emergency preparedness process, in accordance with relevant licence conditions, and consistent with UK PWR best practice. You will also develop programmes to provide robust nuclear and commercial fire protection for the plant. You will support the NNB leadership team in the achievement of all work programmes. This includes forward planning of resources and the provision of a short, medium and long term resource management plan.
You will ensure consistency and liaison between other licensees on or adjacent to the construction sites and that a high standard of health, safety, quality and environment management prevails throughout all areas of responsibility and that performance is maintained within parameters defined by the NNB Executives.
You will be degree qualified in a related discipline with experience within the nuclear industry. You will have a good understanding of quality arrangements required in UK nuclear regulated environment and a proven track record in an emergency preparedness environment
