 |
Overview of Role HandS Manager Acting as part of Architect Engineering Project Team. To take the lead in the development and implementation of the OHS Management System. This is to support role in the construction management of four EPR units at Hinkley and Sizewell.
Key Responsibilities • Provide leadership and excellent personal example. • Develop and maintain an effective and efficient OHS Management System which will ensure compliance with all UK statutory requirements • Liaise as required with the relevant statutory authorities to ensure a full understanding of their current and future requirements • Provide assurance to the project management team that the programme is delivering on improvement targets. As a part of this, maintain and develop a set of leading and lagging indicators to direct and inform the overall OHS programme • Ensure the current and continuing OHS capability on the site and provide functional leadership • Monitor (via a programme of OHS inspections, tours and audits) and report to the project management team on OHS performance and, where necessary, make recommendations for improvement. Monitor any corrective action through to closure. • Educate and inform at all levels on the site on OHS issues. • Ensure the identification of OHS training needs, and monitor the delivery. • Bring to the site best practice in OHS management. • Engage with people at all levels on the site to consult on, and deliver innovative programmes for the continuous improvement of OHS performance. • Engage with our client to understand their OHS improvement programmes and create opportunities to support and enhance these. • Work with the supply chain to ensure they are fully engaged in, and supporting, the OHS programme
Essential Qualifications NEBOSH Diploma.
Desirable Qualifications Degree in .Engineering (or equivalent)
Experience Required Minimum of 10 years in UK OHS working in a regulated industry preferably Nuclear: • experience of OHS system development • knowledge of UK HandS legislation • interfacing with other construction management disciplines on multi-discipline projects • Site-based construction and installations experience An ability to communicate in French (written and spoken) would be advantageous
