Our client is a major oil & gas production company. They are looking for an HSEQ Advisor to provide sup[port to their growing Aberdeen-based operation.
Job description is as follows:
As a company that considers Health, Safety & the Environment of paramount importance, as HSEQ Advisor, you will have the opportunity to join a team which is central to our UK Operations. Reporting directly to the HSEQ Manager, a summary of the key duties include:
Advise management on the HSEQ requirements for the operation, both onshore and offshore in terms of statutory, operating group, concession owners’ requirements and industry best practice.
Monitor the operation of the company Management Systems and advise management of any deviations thereof.
Establish and maintain good relations with the authorities, concession owners, and industry associations in respect of HSEQ matters. Similarly, ensure close co-operation with offshore and onshore personnel, contractors and sub-contractors on all HSEQ matters
Work with Line Management, Government Inspectors, Industry associations and concession owners to improve health and safety standards within the operation.
Prepare and ensure the regular review by management of the company HSE policies and procedures;
Plan Management System audit programmes, review current auditing practices as well as plan and execute quality and safety audits as required
Ideally, the successful applicant will:
•Have worked in a similar role within the oil industry for a minimum of 4 years;
• Hold a valid NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 4 Certificate;
•Hold a current professional membership to a recognized health & safety body;
•Experienced in both internal and third party auditing practices to the ISO 9001 standard or equivalent;
•Experienced and trained in accident and incident investigations with the ability to lead investigations if required. Training in the TOPSET Investigator system would be advantageous;
•Possess a fundamental knowledge of the Offshore Installations (Safety Case) Regulations together with practical experience of managing Safety Cases including material change amendments;
•Possess a fundamental knowledge of occupational health related issues and associated legislation commonly encountered on oil and gas installations;
•Have recent experience of participation in HAZID/HAZOP/HIRA exercises. Training in facilitating such exercises would be beneficial;
•Possess a fundamental knowledge of human factor issues specifically relating to environmental, organisational and job factors, and human and individual characteristics;
•Oil production experience would be advantageous but not mandatory.
The successful applicant must:
•Be willing to successfully complete a Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training course and offshore medical in order to conduct regular offshore visits;
•Be willing to participate in on-call duties on a rotational basis.
