We are currently searching for a Lead Auditor to work for a leading company within the Nuclear Energy market.
Vacancy Overview To ensure supplier quality arrangements for supply of materials, equipment and construction works comply with NNB nuclear and commercial quality assurance and quality control requirements. The role requires the review and audit of supplier arrangements and requires considerable quality assurance and audit experience, gained in engineering or construction projects. The position requires the candidate to work with and support, as required, other members of the NNB Manufacturing Inspection team.
This position is one of oversight and stewardship, and maturity and large scale project experience is advantageous.
Nature and Scope The Lead Auditor will work closely with, report to and act under the responsibility of the Supplier Qualification Manager. However, he/she will need to support other members of the Manufacturing Inspection team so will need to possess broad skills and experience as a Quality Engineer.
Dimensions: • Approx number of staff in the team: 14 • Geographic locations relevant to the job : London + missions in UK and abroad • Size/number of contracts/contractors managed : more than 100
Skills and Qualifications Qualifications and Experience Significant engineering experience Suitable experience within Quality Assurance/Quality Engineering, ideally, within the nuclear industry Project management background, experience working on large projects is advantageous Corporate membership of the IQA desirable Formal recognised Lead Auditor Qualification or registered IRCA Lead Auditor is required Fully familiar with ISO 9001 requirements
Technical and Commercial Knowledge and Skills Able to keep accurate records Able to produce clear and concise reports Able to work independently or in a team focused environment Preferably, a working knowledge of IAEA GS-R-3, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 Awareness of EFQM model Working knowledge of relevant standards, nuclear codes and guidelines including ISO and CDM Working knowledge of quality management practices, methods and processes
Principal Accountabilities Manage qualification of potential contractors and monitor ongoing arrangements through the review and acceptance management arrangements proposed by contractors including contractor plans, policies and procedures. Ensure quality assurance requirements are adequately requested and specified within contract documentation. Lead/support the review/audit of suppliers' arrangements (desktop review or audit). Work with suppliers to help them meet project quality Requirements. Monitor and audit supplier and sub-contractor activities, on or off site, as required (UK and abroad). Follow up audit or surveillance outcomes Produce monthly reports for assigned areas of responsibility Contribute to the development and update the audit schedule, and monthly reporting of audit issues. Complete and issue audits reports. Maintain knowledge and expertise in relevant QA/QC standards and practices, by: - maintaining contact with peer group within EDF Group to promote consistency. - maintaining knowledge of national and international standards and nuclear codes (RCC-M, RCC-E, ..). Maintaining awareness of relevant Project and site procedures, and ensure that information on requirements, changes and updates are disseminated within the team and to the Architect Engineer and contractors as appropriate. Support change management, for example technical queries and concessions. Contribute to the development of the qualification strategy. Identify and help drive continuous improvement opportunities within the quality management system. Produce quality documentation (e.g. specifications/processes and procedures) as required by the department's business plan.
