We are currently looking Electrical Engineers with manufacturing experience for our client within the nuclear defence industry.
Key accountabilities
Technical leadership for testing and operation of pulse power X-Ray machines Technical leadership for Electro-Magnetic Pulse (EMP) measurements and controls Deputy to Pulsed Power Operations Team Leader
Responsibilities
Complex system operation, design and specification Management of contracts for pulse power X-Ray machines Authoring and verification of comprehensive Work Instructions Deputy Senior Authorised Person Electrical (SAP(E)) Supervision of electrical equipment installation and testing Operation, maintenance and fault finding of electrical equipment and systems Prioritisation of work to meet customer requirements and monitoring progress to meet key business timescales Mentoring of staff to improve team knowledge and experience in the use of X-ray machines To ensure understanding of and compliance with AWE environment, health, safety, security and quality standards
Qualifications
HNC/Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or relevant experience
Knowledge
Expected to have substantial knowledge of at least 3 of the following:
High voltage equipment Pulse power systems Analogue and digital electronics Control and instrumentation Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) and EMP Safety interlock systems
Experience
Expected to have substantial proven experience working as an electrical engineer in the following areas:
Electrical and electronic design Manufacturing or equipment procurement Installation and testing Mentoring
Skills
Ability to produce facility modification paperwork to acceptable standards for implementation Document production using Word, Excel and Visio Ability to work as part of a team or independently Proven record of presentation skills to engage stakeholders and influence decisions Proven self starter Proactive and innovative ability to solve problems Strong customer focus Able to manage conflicting priorities
