Our client a leader in the water industry are now recruiting for Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineers / Surveyors to join their water team in Northern Ireland.
Positions:
Mechanical Surveyors - 20k + Van + Fuel Electrical Surveyors - 20k + Van + Fuel Process Surveyors - 20k + Van + Fuel Based - Northern Ireland - (Various locations across Northern Ireland)
These positions will be fixed term contracts for 12 months, after this period there may be opportunities to offer permanent positions of extensions.
PURPOSE
To work within a team delivering an extensive site programme of identifying non-infrastructure water assets, aligning existing assets to a register and undertaking condition assessments. The geographical location may include any of Northern Irelands Water's non-infrastructure facilities.
1) Identify non-infrastructure water assets, align existing assets to bespoke register and undertake condition assessments Capture of non-infrastructure asset data and inventory utilising alpha-numeric descriptions • Asset performance assessments / condition grading • Report preparation / drawings / process flow diagrams • Scheduling of work and liaison. • Develop and maintain good client relationships 2) Provide guidance to fellow team members and technical staff working on the same projects 3) Attend and contribute to project meetings internally 4) Undertake continuing professional development under guidance of project team 5) Operate in accordance with health and safety, environmental and quality standards
Qualifications MUST HAVE ON OF THE FOLLOWING 3 QUALIFICATIONS.
Third level education in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or process (chemical engineering AND a minimum of 3 years relevant post graduate experience of mechanical / electrical or process plant in a water / waste water environment.
Or, A relevant National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) level 3 AND a minimum of 3 years post qualification trade experience working as an electrical / mechanical or process craftperson (maintenance) of process plant in a water / waste water environment.
Or, Have completed a recognised mechanical and/or electrical apprenticeship AND a minimum of 3 years relevant post apprenticeship trade experience working as a mechanical and/or electrical craftsperson (maintenance) of process plant in a water / waste water environment.
Knowledge / Experience MUST HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING.
Ability to correctly identify assets through familiarity with water and waste water equipment, which may potentially include: Centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, air blower systems, actuated valve assemblies, control and pneumatic systems, screening systems, detriters, communicators, agitators, mixer systems, aeration systems, bridge scrapers, actuated penstocks, de-gritting systems, conveyor systems, surge protection systems, DAF systems, chemical treatment systems, chlorine dosing systems, chemical batching systems, and filtration systems. Sufficient experience to enable the condition grading of assets based on visual inspection and visible indicators. Experience and / or knowledge of water and wastewater treatment and distribution.
