	Job Description
	Seeking a Mechanical and Process Engineer. The role will be as an Engineer within the Mechanical and Process (MandP) section of the Plant Design and Projects (PDandP), reporting to the MandP Design Manager or a Lead Engineer - Technology and supporting various Lead Engineers - Project. ROLE PROFILE •Production of detailed technical specifications, including equipment functional specifications, process systems designs and system definition and specifications •A key part of the role is to ensure satisfactory definition and implementation of the core plant technology systems based on the client’s standard design. •Work with subcontractors, check and approve detail design drawings. Check suppliers’ test specifications and possibly attend tests at suppliers’ factories •Liaison with Project Lead MandP Engineers and other specialist engineers within the section to ensure the satisfactory delivery of this work •Present information for design reviews and safety reviews •Confirmation of final design compliance to our clients standard requirements and negotiating changes with the customer where this is not the case •Weekly travel to UK office in Capenhurst. Frequent travel to European suppliers and other of our clients operational sites QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE •A good quality degree in mechanical or process engineering •Experience in the field of mechanical or process engineering design and specification •Experience of working in the nuclear industry is preferred but experience in any large process industry is acceptable •Experience of specifying or designing process systems for a range of applications in process and capability to produce high quality written specifications and reports •Experience of work with a range of subcontractors in a multinational organisation and supervision of the provision of design information by subcontractors •Some practical experience of equipment testing •Good interpersonal skills and a high level of computer literacy •An ability to speak French, Dutch or German in addition to English would be an advantage Other Requirements •A valid Security Clearance to SC level
