Our client is currently seeking a inspirational leader who has been focused on the development of the commissioning arrangements of Nuclear Island plant.
This position will support the Operational Development area of the UK EPR project, supporting the licence application, the design process and future operations, taking into account best international practice and the requirements of the relevant UK government agencies. You must be able to demonstrate high ethical behaviour, integrity and character.
You will initially develop the commissioning processes and arrangements within the Operational Development area of the UK EPR project liaising with the appropriate divisions within the company. Ultimately as the NNB team grows, you will be required to manage and motivate a team of technical and clerical staff. They will fulfil an essential role in the support of the Nuclear Island commissioning. In doing this the team will require to be recruited, trained and have a culture of safety, both nuclear and industrial and a motivated approach to the support of construction, commissioning and subsequent safe and effective operation of the plant. The post holder will have key targets for work programmes and will report directly to the Commissioning Manager.
The work may involve some time seconded abroad to gain experience of EPR commissioning experience. You will maintain clear communications with NII on matters of licensing process and be responsible for developing nuclear island commissioning arrangements, processes and procedures. You will ensure commissioning best practices are employed on the commissioning and operational sites, where necessary liaising with international bodies and the appropriate departments within our client company. The successful candidate will be expected to prepare or assist in the preparation of the necessary training programmes and in the recruitment of staff.
You will be degree qualified and have experience within the nuclear industry where project experience is highly desirable as is experience of commissioning of nuclear plant.
You will have practical experience of nuclear plant systems commissioning and have excellent communication and organisational skills. Working knowledge of the French language would be advantageous.
