A large Nuclear Defence site are looking to recruit a Quality Assurance Manager, previous experience within a similar establishment would be of great interest.
Job Description:
The Nuclear Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the business is meeting its obligations under the law for nuclear and radiological safety at its facility. In order to ensure that this is happening the Nuclear Assurance Manager will direct and co-ordinate resources to provide:
A methodical surveillance of company Compliance, with the requirements of the Nuclear Site Licence, EPR2010, IRRs, REPPIR and MoD Authorisation.
A co-ordinated interface with statutory and MOD regulatory authorities.
Emergency planning and exercise function for the Licensed/Authorised Site.
Routine and emergency radiological environmental monitoring service.
In addition to reporting in to the Director of Nuclear Safety and Quality the Nuclear Assurance Manager is responsible for the management of The Nuclear Assurance Department. The Department which comprises four sections provides compelling advice and regulatory interface on nuclear safety, radiological safety and radioactive waste management and assurance of compliance with legal and contractual requirements.
The successful candidate should be a Chartered Engineer and have intimate knowledge of nuclear submarine power plant. They will also be expected to have a proven track record in auditing, nuclear and environmental regulation and emergency planning disciplines.
The successful candidate will be expected to operate at all levels within the company, interface regularly with board members and directors and senior customer representatives.
