My utilities client is looking for a operations & maintenence technician to join their team in either Telford, Shrewsbusy or Wolverhampton.
Main purpose of the job
Key part of a small flexible team responsible for preventative and reactive maintenance of the clients plants across the northern region. Main sites to be covered are: Leachate Treatment Plant (including distillation to recover ammonia) at Candles landfill site,Telford Cold Softened Water Plant at Shell Stanlow, Ellesmere Port Effluent Treatment Plant (involving reverse osmosis) at Mettis site, Redditch and possibly Biological Treatment Plant (involving SBR reactors, and DAF unit) at Vertellus site, Middlesbrough. Ideally also trained to provide operational cover at Candles, Shell and Vertellus
Knowledge, skills and qualifications Time served multi-skilled Technician, preferably with an HNC in an Electrical or Mechanical discipline. Maintenance background in a process / production environment. Able to work on own initiative Flexible and proactive approach to work Good knowledge of health & safety procedures and legislation. Experience of permit to work, COSHH PC Literate using Microsoft Office Products Desirable – experience of predictive maintenance (condition monitoring) Desirable – experience of maintenance data bases Desirable – experience of onsite commissioning and trouble-shooting Desirable – operational experience on chemical / water treatment plants Desirable – experience of PLC’s
Main tasks Undertake routine preventative maintenance Liase with my clients Maintenance Supervisor and client staff at each site. Work on own initiative, with guidance from your Supervisor Issuing permits and supervising contractors/staff Reporting and suggestions to improve maintenance system Assist commissioning of on-site equipment and site acceptance test. Trouble-shooting Housekeeping Respond to emergency call outs and provide cover as and when required Willing and able to travel Willing and able to learn and carry out the operation of a plant.
Company vehicle is provided. This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.
