Our client is seeking an Planning Officer to support the Head of Planning and Planning Manager in coordinating a range of processes and delivering core Planning activities to a high standard of quality and timeliness.
As the Planning Officer you will generate and collate information and documentation for the planning aspects of our clients Nuclear New Build programme. You will support our clients planning processes, including the processes of negotiation and discussion with the planning authorities.
You will generate and collate planning application documentation for ultimate submission to the various planning authorities and ensure that all evidence collated or completed in support of our clients applications for planning approval for new nuclear build are timely, accurate and of good quality, with a full auditable trail.
By coordinating within the Planning team and, if necessary, the wider directorate and third parties to share information, you will ensure the best available support and advice is provided to the planning application process.
You will provide assistance for the initiation, development and promotion of our clients applications for planning consent for new nuclear build and develop and maintain knowledge of nuclear/major infrastructure planning issues and processes. You will be expected to provide advice within the directorate and our clients business as required. You will also provide a wide range of planning support to the Head of Planning.
The successful candidate will ideally have recent experience working in a planning role, preferably for a major infrastructure project in the UK and with experience of large scale, high profile and complex capital projects within the nuclear industry.
You will require knowledge of the legal and regulatory requirements for major infrastructure development planning applications and the processes required to support a successful planning application. This includes recent trends as they apply to large scale, high profile and complex projects. You will be able to demonstrate evidence of strong relationship building, influencing and collaborative work style developed through working in complex and team-focused environments.
