	Job Description
	A large nuclear defence client are looking for an experienced Principal Nuclear Safety Engineer to help deliver a series of staged safety cases to support regulatory permission of a new facility The role requirements are: Safety Case Support Lead a small team of Safety Case personnel, with responsibility for delivering part of the Pre-Construction Safety Report. Identify hazards and initiating events including use of formal HAZID meetings; Assess consequences, initiating event frequencies and sentence IEs; Produce Fault Sequence Diagrams, Event and Fault Trees as required; Identify safety measures and classify SSCs; Produce Hazard Schedules and Fault Schedules using the assurance database; Produce HAZANs for fault groups and processes; Produce sections of PCSR and supporting annexes; Produce sections of PCmSR and supporting annexes; Respond to review comments on assurance documents; Assist in development and maintenance of the assurance database on DOORs. Attend Meetings with the Regulators; Engineering Support Lead Assurance representative for several design work packages. Tasks include; Provide safety input to the design process, identifying hazards and evaluating solutions; Assist with/develop/produce ALARP studies and solutions; Generate specific safety functional requirements and SSCs in conjunction with the design team; Produce Engineering Schedule Forms using the assurance database; Review of design drawings and documents and attend design review meetings; Review the Design Substantiation Report and assist in developing safety arguments; Review proposed design changes (including CRNs) for safety implications; Assist with the development of commissioning strategy and schedules. Assurance Team Support Lead / participate in team discussions on technical and assurance issues as well as strategy, programme and resources; Support the project at meetings with the regulators and with AWE Corporate Assurance; Respond to queries from stakeholders; Manage progress of own work and supporting team members; Assist in developing team members and new starters. Essential Experience or Skill Criteria for Post [For SQEP reference] Substantial nuclear safety case experience; HNC / HND in Engineering or relevant science degree; Good report writing skills; Good communication and organisational skills; Additional Desirable Criteria: Safety assessment of nuclear materials handling equipment; Design substantiation experience; Experience of Assurance work at a Nuclear licensed site Candidates with DV clearance is preferred although those with SC clearance may be considered To apply for this position, candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UKMatchtech Group Plc is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
