My client has a vacancy for a Process Modelling Specialist to join their expanding team
Process Modelling Specialist
Location: Reading Berkshire
Business Area: Asset Management Contract Type: Permanent Hours: Full-time
What is the purpose of this role? To undertake data analysis and modelling to support the asset management of water non-infrastructure assets. To analyse and model the capacity and capability of underground water treatment works assets under critical scenarios and to understand future risk to water supply. To develop a range of benchmarks used to track benefits from investment driven by water supply demand and Capital Maintenance.
What makes this role unique? This is an excellent opportunity to understand water treatment works and asset performance. The work undertaken in this role will provide technical assistance that will influence investment decisions both in the short-term and on an ongoing basis into the next Asset Management Period (AMP) and beyond. The role represents the chance to develop the Water Modelling Teams focus on treatment works, and add value to the function. There will be substantial exposure to senior managers within the business, so you will be in the position to influence key decisions in the company.
What will this role involve? - Developing and maintaining an auditable set of capacity and capability rates for all water treatment works under critical water supply scenarios, to underpin strategic supply demand, resilience and capital maintenance decision making. - Undertaking the analysis and modelling of the capability and capacity of water treatment works & individual processes under critical scenarios, to support the understanding of, and confidence in, future risk to water supply. - Supporting the modelling of the link between asset capacity/capability and investment in order to assess future performance under different investment scenarios. - Developing and maintaining a series of Asset Performance Indicators, aligned with SAP, to enable tracking of investment benefits driven by water supply demand, quality and capital maintenance programmes. - Supporting Operation Expenditure cost analysis of water treatment works performance to facilitate development of unit rate cost models & comparative assessment of treatment processes and works.
What skills are we looking for? This is a technical position, so the successful applicant will have skills gained from working in a clean or wastewater operational position, and have experience of working in a treatment works. In addition to this you will have the ability to analyse large, complex raw data sets, including application of statistical methods, and to apply modelling methodologies in order to create practical asset management policies. Experience of working with waste or water treatment process design or modelling would also be an advantage, as would management of consultants. Alongside these technical skills, the ability to build a network with different stakeholders within the business is important in order to facilitate the provision of data and asset operational intelligence.
T Salary 34,000 to 37,000 depending on experience
