The Project engineer must be able to play an active role within a project team that comprises of members of our Client’s organisation, in design and projects, with specialists and equipment suppliers delivering operational plant at the forefront of technology. It is essential to deliver these services and equipment safely, on time, to cost with full compliance with all regulatory and security provisions and to fully support end customers in achieving their business objectives.
The Client has a requirement for a Project Engineer who is flexible and able to travel within the UK, Europe and United States of America and resides close to the our clients base in Cheshire. The candidate must be eligible to gain SC clearance.

Key Accountabilities:
•Manage assigned design/supply contracts and work packages related to provision of equipment and services. •Proactively plan and agree own work sequences and timetables in consultation with project manager. •Support the Project Manager in the overall successful delivery of the project. •Liaise with engineers and suppliers to ensure that equipment and services supplied meet all design, quality and technical requirements. •Responsible for monitoring progress against project schedules to meet milestones and controlling costs against budgets. •Ensure compliance with all the project procedures including involvement with generating specific project procedures. •Responsible for ensuring that equipment and services designed and procured for the project are supplied to the correct quality, cost and project timescales. •Monitor and control contractor and supplier activities through visits and meetings to ensure delivery on schedule. •Manage the progress of contractor and supplier documentation being reviewed by engineers. •Share and contribute to the high level of safety requirements on the project including participation in safety audits. •Ensures compliance with all regulatory and security requirements
Experience Profile:
•Chartered Engineer with Graduate education and/or 7 or more years experience in relevant project engineering posts in nuclear or aligned industries. •Awareness and understanding of design construction and operation of major hazards plant including the critical HSandE and technology factors in the business. •Experience working in US and Europe. •Ability to work in a multicultural environment. •Awareness of and ability to apply contract management and contracts law •Good knowledge and experience of project management tools and techniques. •Good knowledge and experience of planning and cost control tools and processes. •The role is based in Cheshire but regular travel to the US and Europe is required. |
