	Job Description
	We are currently looking for a Project Manager to oversee the main Earthworks for Hinkley Point C nuclear powerstation. Job Overview The Delivery / Project Manager reports directly to the BOP Delivery Manager and is responsible for the direction and leadership of all activities associated with the full life cycle delivery of the programme of work assigned to them. Key responsibilities will include the techno-commercial project management of the Earthworks Contract and the successful interface management of the works in association with the developing activities at the project site. Co-ordination within the HPC Directorate, the Architect Engineer and project stakeholders will be paramount to the safe performance of the works. This post has the responsibility to ensure delivery of all the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning activities for the life cycle of the programme of work in accordance with the overall Project schedule. This post will ensure planning and delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project. Nature and Scope The nature of the role is to provide leadership and teamwork to ensure the effective delivery of activities in the programme, while recognising and managing the impacts of the programme on the wider Project. The Delivery / Project Manager will apply a project management approach to activities relating to design principles and system design which are undertaken by the Architect Engineer, detailed design, manufacturing and construction which are largely delivered through contracts and commissioning managed through integrated contractor and project teams to ensure all activities are delivered safely, to quality, budget and schedule. Proactive team working is crucial as the Delivery / Project Manager will be required to establish and lead diverse project team members to deliver activities within their programme. Key resources will need to be identified, requested and clear roles and responsibilities will need to be communicated. Dimensions: The Hinkley Point C Project is split into programmes or work aligned to either plant islands or disciplined based scope. Each programme will be delivered in part by resources and in part through one or more (interrelated) major contracts. The Delivery / Project Manager will manage one or more contract packages within the BOP Portfolio • In the region of 3 to 5 direct reports. • Lower level interaction with project team in France although will still operate in a matrix management structure to manage a team in France, and a combined Commercial and Procurement Team of around 30. • Direct responsibility for contract management with values in the region of 100m to 250m. • Holds delivery programme liability for contractors and external stakeholders within their area of responsibility. All posts will have; Skills and Qualifications • Track record of delivering projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector. • Able to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation. • Experience of managing contractors, consultants and other advisors throughout large and complex construction projects, in a regulated environment. • Excellent presentation, influencing and facilitation skills. • Strong numerical and analytical skills. • Detailed understanding of PWR design and experience in PWR operations. • Working knowledge of French language an advantage. • Degree and chartered status in an engineering, construction, physics or other related field. • Good knowledge of CDM Regulations. • Knowledge and / or practitioner of Project and Programme Management with experience of applying either; APM Body of knowledge, OGC's Prince 2, OGC's MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) or equivalent. Principal Accountabilities • Manage the work scope to be delivered within the programme of work and the interfaces to the other programmes • Lead a team, capable of delivering the work scope, with clear roles and responsibilities and delivery accountabilities. • Maintain a programme execution plan (PEP), setting out how the programme of work will be managed, organised and executed. The PEP sets out the “why”, “what”, “how”, “when” and “who” for the delivery of the programme, • Drive the delivery of the programme activities to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements. Monitor and manage the progress of the programme - track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters • Anticipate, manage and resolve issues within the programme. Identify risks and facilitate the resolution of all issues raised, develop and update the programme budget, and escalate any issues to the Project Controls Director. Monitor and adjust the execution plan where issues arise to ensure the overall programme schedule is met, • Hold level 3 schedules developed and maintained for the programme. Ensure such schedules are consistent with overall Project schedules (levels 1 and level 2).
