My client is a market leader in their field and looking to recruit a QHSE Advisor to join their expanding team.
Description: Based in Aldridge - Closing Date 9th January 2012 Job Purpose: To discharge assigned responsibilities and carry out designated duties in accordance with all Company policies and procedures, in particular to secure compliance with the requirements of; Health and Safety Management Systems Environmental Management Systems Quality Management Systems The Major Accident Prevention Policy To provide professional advice and support on all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental matters to all levels of employees at Empire and on occasions to the wider business of Treatment and Transfer HWS in order to meet legal responsibilities and to promote best practice To assist in the development and implementation of an integrated QHSE management system Monitor via audits and inspections operations performance against established systems and standards and regulatory requirements To aid and support line manager in provision of support, advice and assistance in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements Organise and delivering selected training on QHSE matters To interface directly with other departments on QHSE matters To participate in internal and external investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses and other systems and regulatory non-compliances To provide written reports on QHSE related matters as required To participate in delivering QHSE team strategy To receive any training required to maintain and develop skills necessary to perform the role to the required standard To carry out any other duties as reasonably required from time to time
Qualifications: Essential
NEBOSH National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) Certificate or equivalent Qualification in chemistry or engineering
Operational Experience:
Ability to communicate at all levels and have strong influencing skills High level of self discipline and motivation Ability to work on own initiative and to tight and strict deadlines Experience working with ISO 9000, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18000
Preferable but not essential.
NEBOSH National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) Degree or equivalent Good working knowledge of legislation relating to waste management and permitting systems Ideally with experience of COMAH, COSHH, DSEAR, Permit to Work programmes of work Proven QHSE experience, ideally with a background in a industrial cleaning, demolition, construction, waste management, oil & gas industry, radioactivity mechanical/ electrical engineering environment Degree level education would be preferable Membership of an appropriate Professional Institutions
Education Level: Associates Degrees or equivalent
