Job Description |

 |
One of Matchtechs key clients has vacancies for high-calibre safety / risk engineers. Candidates will be expected to have above-average graduate/postgraduate qualifications.
1. Technical support as part of a major project task force. This to include typical formal safety assessments including physical effects modelling using commercially available software for both offshore and onshore developments, QRA, COMAH studies, HSE Case / Safety Case development; HSE management systems development, reliability / availability engineering, participation in HAZOP studies, etc.
2. Safety / risk / loss prevention input to development planning activities interfacing with other disciplines, e.g. Process, Piping/Layout, infrastructure, commercial etc.
3. Technical supervision of junior engineers (subject to experience level).
Required Experience: 1. FEED and Detailed Design projects, covering various aspects of oil and gas production and processing, onshore and offshore.
2. Track record of technical achievement (roles & responsibilities) consistent with years in industry.
3. Hands-on modelling capability ranging from proficient to expert-user (subject to experience level) in most/all of the following: a. Consequence modelling using FRED / CIRRUS / PHAST; b. Quantitative Risk Assessments, offshore and onshore using spreadsheet linked models or commercially available risk models;
4. Technical understanding of safety and risk engineering aspects / issues in some / most of the following areas: a. Layout studies, HAZID studies, Performance standards development, SIMOPS studies, Concept Safety Studies, Integrity Management studies, HSE verification studies, etc; b. Gas and gas-liquids processing – applicable processes and associated hazards / risks, etc.
5. Excellent communication skills with particular emphasis on the ability to produce well constructed, comprehensive and yet concise input to technical documents.
