1. Job Details Job Title : Asset Serviceability Planner
Department : Investment Strategy (Asset Management) Location : Worthing or Brighton
3. Skills & Experience (including Education/Qualifications) • Understanding of Price Review in water or similar in asset management and serviceability planning • Understanding of the water supply process and/or the wastewater collection and treatment process • Experience of applying the Common Framework methodologies to water and wastewater assets or similar planning processes in other sectors • Experience of asset management processes and systems needed to achieve a good asset management capability • Appreciation of the regulatory framework and OFWAT's business model • Understanding of risk based asset planning processes • Ability to operate effectively and influence peer group and managers • The ability to compile and prioritise potentially conflicting programme objectives • Ability to think strategically and with the ability to take an overview of company needs • Honours Degree in relevant discipline.
4. Main Purpose Of Job To prepare investment programmes for maintaining asset serviceability (~0.5bn) across all water and/or wastewater assets for review within the business. To identify activity levels and investment requirements, using a risk based approach, to meet serviceability objectives for water and/or wastewater assets.
A key output from this role is the Company's capital maintenance plan for this five year period and the Company's Capital Maintenance (B3) submission for maintaining asset serviceability to Ofwat, the Regulator, at the next Price Review (PR14) amounting to 1bn in total.
5. Main Duties • Responsible for operating a new serviceability planning capability for both internal and regulatory planning purposes • Assist in the development of the company serviceability strategy serving the needs of the company internal business plan, Strategic Direction Statement (SDS) and Price Review in the short medium and long term • Prepare targets for investment, outputs, activity to maintain the serviceability of all asset groups over the short medium and long term • Work with the key internal stakeholders to ensure that the company's serviceability plans reflect the requirements of Asset Management, Operations, Capital Delivery, Regulation and other internal stakeholders • Responsible for the preparation and drafting of significant elements of the Company's B3 submission • Undertake risk analysis to demonstrate the balance of risk between the customer and company over the life-time of the company's strategy.

7. Complexity And Creativity The role demands an understanding of customer, stakeholder and company objectives and the development of the company's plans to achieve these. Well developed critical analysis and numerical reasoning skills are needed to understand and evaluate a range of requirements. Creativity and incisive thinking and the ability to evaluate business cases will be needed to be persuasive to the Asset Management team. The ability to simply, effectively and persuasively communicate verbally and in written form will be needed to secure buy in from the organisation and Regulators
8. Main Contacts The role will require effective working across all areas of the Company with own peer group and managers. The role will result in working directly with the Company Reporter and support technical representations and potential interface with technical representatives from Ofwat
