	Job Description
	An opportunity to become part of the Nuclear New build programme Four UK EPRs planned for Hinkley, Somerset and Sizewell, Suffolk, involve significant civil construction work with 400000 cubic meters of concrete and 50000 tonnes of steel reinforcement. Many of the structures are safety related and seismically qualified. While the Nuclear island buildings are replicating the design already being constructed at Flamanville 3, the Marine works and BOP have to adapt to site conditions. The Civil Technicians will work within the EDF Architect Engineering Site organisation based at the Hinkley Point construction site monitoring and coordinating the activities of the civil contractors to ensure Health and Safety and quality standards are achieved, the design is achieved and emergent issues are resolved quickly. Key Responsibilities The Civil Technicians are responsible for: • Surveillance of subcontractors construction activity at site • Ensuring contractors adhere to good health and Safety practices • Ensuring quality standards are maintained. • Ensuring contractors deliver the intended design • Working with subcontractors to resolving emergent technical issues. • Working with the AE site team to resolve interface issues Essential Qualifications Minimum of a HNC in Civil Engineering Desirable Qualifications Incorporated Engineer Experience Required • Minimum of 3 years in civil construction preferably in the power generation industry • Experienced in CDM regulation • Experienced in Civil Engineering Standards • Civil Engineering Construction and installations experience. • Experience in Earthworks contracts • Experience with NEC 3 contract supervision
