	Job Description
	A large Nuclear Defence client are currently looking for a Technical Author with DV clearance. Job/Role Purpose The main purpose of the role is to aid in the generation and to lead the review of technical documentation. Such documentation includes Manufacturing Process Specifications (MPS), Work Instructions (WI), Operating Instructions (OI), Route Cards (RC), Maintenance Instructions (MI), Commissioning Schedules (CS) and technical reports. There is also a requirement to generate minutes from technical reviews such as design reviews for tooling and Process documentation reviews. Key Accountabilities To Support the Principal Manufacturing Engineer (PME) and Manufacturing Engineers (MEs) within the area. Key Responsibilities To deliver core technical process documentation for authorisation by an appointed Authorised Manufacturing Engineer To accurately capture processes through the generation of manufacturing documentation. To aid in the generation and configuration of Process History Folders. To generate and action tasking on behalf of the PME. To conduct peer reviews of technical documentation generated by the ME(s). To gain stakeholder approval of key documentation generated. To instigate the procurement of any items required by the PME & ME(s). Support the promotion of the Manufacturing Design Authority (MDA) procedures, ensuring that appropriate standards are maintained at all times. Qualifications A minimum of an ONC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline. A Minimum grade C or above in English GCSE or O level equivalent. Knowledge A good knowledge of engineering principles. A good knowledge of generating Process documentation. The ability to understand technical drawings and specifications. Experience Experience in the generation of Technical documentation is essential. A basic knowledge of MRP/ERP systems is desirable. A basic knowledge of a range of manufacturing processes (i.e. Machining, Presswork, Moulding, etc) is desirable. A basic knowledge in the design of components is desirable. A basic knowledge of tool design and manufacture is desirable. A good understanding of Bills of Materials and Route Cards is desirable. Skills Strong literacy and grammar. Strong computer literacy (MS Office - Word, Excel, Powerpoint, MS Project, Outlook, etc). Good attention to detail. Able to communicate effectively. Good presentation skills. The ability to operate under pressure. Assertive and able to defend decisions. Behaviours Proactive, self motivated with a 'can do' attitude. Confident to communicate at all levels within the company. Confident to work in a multi-discipline team environment. Flexibility in work routine to meet demands of the job. Special Requirements Willingness to work in Controlled areas.
